Update

Here is a little update about my chilirans...

Riley is enjoying 6th grade and hardly ever has homework because she finishes it all at school. She is a little too smart for her britches. She is way into listening to her ipod and music in the car, bedroom, bathroom, computer, etc. She loves to order music on iTunes. Every once in awhile I notice that she is wearing a little makeup. She loves to hang out with friends whenever she gets the chance. She is definitely a pre-teen!

Brynn is a little sweet heart that likes to make everyone happy. She loves to sit at the computer and type stories that she has written. She writes such cute little stories. She doesn't always enjoy sharing a room with Riley. Riley doesn't keep her side very clean at all. One of these days we will move to a bigger house and Brynn can have her own room then. In the mean time I remind her that I shared a room with two sisters when I was growing up. Brynn is taking piano and gymnastics and loving them both so much!!!!

Jace is a fireball. He loves to play the Wii, Xbox, Nintendo, anything he can get his hands on. He is getting tall and frequently complains about his legs hurting. Those dang growing pains!! He tells me often that he would love a little brother. I'm sure it is hard being the only boy in the family. He is always so sweet to his mom, and definitely butts heads with Riley. I think they just enjoy bugging each other.

Haley is the princess of the house. She is always putting dress up clothes on, lip stick, high heels, anything to make her beautiful. She likes to carry a purse when we go some where. In her purse you will find...lip gloss, chapstick, lipstick, lots of pennies, and keys. Whenever we go to my mom's house my mom gives her some old key that is kicking around. (They have hundreds of keys because they used to own several apartments). Haley asked me to sing her a song the other day..."Hush little baby, don't say a word". When I got to the part "Daddy will buy you a diamond ring" she said really loud, "I want that diamond ring!"

Wondering Wednesday...

If, by having a 2 inch by two inch tattoo, you could save five lives and prevent a terrorist attack, would you do so? If you were allowed to select the location and design, where would you have it and what would the design be?

Okay, I would say yes...I would have the tattoo, only for that reason. I would choose a location that is not "sagging" already or "heading south" very soon. I don't think a tattoo on a big saggy butt cheek would be very flattering. Not to mention what a women looks like up top after having kids. I call it "socks with cantaloupes in them". Not a pretty picture. I would choose to have the tattoo on my ankle. Maybe something like a heart or something equally tacky.

My 365

Okay, I am going to attempt to take at least one picture a day for a year. I think it will be a fun way to document my year. I absolutely love taking pictures. My sweet husband bought me an awesome camera for my Birthday/Christmas. What a great guy! Anyway, if you are interested in viewing these pictures, click on the link "A photo a day for a year" off to the right, and enjoy!!

Painful Family Home Evening

For the last little while Brynn and Jace have been suffering with a loose tooth. Brynn was telling me about how things were getting stuck under the loose tooth and it was bothering her. So after our short Home Evening lesson, I mentioned Brynn and Jace's plight to John. He was just like a kid in a candy store. He went and got some dental floss and one at a time, made them lay down across his lap.

The first patient was Brynn. She was very hesitant and shed a few tears. I'm not sure why she was crying. Her tooth was so loose it did not take much effort to get it out. I think she was just nervous. She has never been good at getting splinters out or anything of the sort.

The next patient was Jace. His tooth was not nearly as loose. John had to work on his tooth a little more. He just laid there calm and unflinching. I couldn't believe how still he was. That is very uncharacteristic of Jace. I think it was more painful to watch. I'm not a real fan of things like that.

Haley was hovering around Brynn and Jace during their "procedures". She saw the blood and was quite interested. When Jace was about done, I said jokingly, "Who's next? Haley do you want to go next?" She looked at me like..."What the heck". It was funny to see the look on her face.
Jace and Brynn after the "proceedure". Brynn doesn't look too happy.
Missing the two front teeth. I'm sort of dreading the LARGE front teeth that will grow in. That is always the "awkard" stage.

Wondering Wednesday...

Who makes you laugh more than anyone in the world?

Haley makes me laugh every day. She always says the cutest things. She is at the age where she just says whatever she is thinking.

I think I laugh at a lot of different things. All my kids make me laugh, (some days they make me cry and I want to kick their butts). I have been told MANY TIMES that I cackle like a witch. I recently recorded Riley on my cellphone. I laughed really hard while I was recording her. Riley likes to play that laugh over and over and over again. And can I just say, it is not a very pretty laugh. I think I do cackle like a witch. And it's very loud too!

The times I laugh the most is when it is late. I get so incredibly slap-happy and everything is just hilarious to me. Anyone that has been around me when it is late can attest to this.

Holi-daze

Wow, I feel like I can finally take a breather. It was such a fun Christmas break. We were so very busy. 10 of the 12 kids in my family were in town for Christmas. There are 50 grand kids in the family and most of them were there to participate in the festivities.

I'm not even sure where to start with the run-down. We went and sang at the Senior Citizens Center and the grand kids handed out candy canes. The "old folks" enjoyed the music and seeing all the kids handing out candy canes. It was nice to go and do some service and have the kids be a part of it.

For Christmas Eve, we re-enacted the nativity, sang Christmas songs, read stories, ate lots of food, and then Santa came. It was so fun to see the excitement in the kids eyes when they saw Santa. Although some of the little kids didn't appreciate him very much.

When we were done we all drove to a couple of houses where we went to "secret Santa" a couple of families. Everyone ran up to the door to leave presents, and ring and run.

We also got together for Christmas day, New Years Eve (also Brynn's Birthday), and many other "just becauses". One day we met at a church and had a pot luck. While we were there we played many games in the gym of lightening. We have some pretty dang good athletes in the family if I do say so my dang self.

I think that I am blessed with one of the greatest families!!! Great Mom and Dad, great siblings, great husband, and great kids!

Below is a slideshow that gives just a tiny glimps of it all.......
