Can't get enough

I overheard Haley talking to Jace's friend...
"Hey, guess what? I have a crampa (grandpa). I don't know his name, I just call him crampa."
I just can't get enough of that little lady! I could just listen to her talk all day. (It's not as much fun when they are older). We just love her so much! We don't know what we would do without her.

Last night I took Riley, Brynn, and their cousin Madison to the David Archuleta concert. When I found out about the concert I called the radio station to find out how to get a ticket. They told me that I could buy them online the next morning starting at 10:00 a.m. I got online at 10:00 and bought 4 tickets. I got right back on to buy some tickets for my sister, and they were sold out. The concert sold out in 4minutes. I couldn't believe it. Yesterday morning at 7:00 a.m. people started standing in line to get in because it was not assigned seating. I just about died when I heard that. 7:00 A.M.!!! There was NO way that I was about to camp out all day just to be up close to the front. I mean I love my kids, but get real!!! Anywhoooo...we got to the Civic Auditorium at 5:00 (the concert didn't start until 8:00). So we had a lot of time to kill while we were in line.
Riley, Brynn, and their cousins Lindsey and Madi waiting for the concert
The long line to get in.

While we were waiting in line, the girls were FULL of energy (along with several hundred other girls). The channel 6 news van pulled up near us and decided to film Riley, Brynn, and Madi. The news anchor had them yell, "David Archuleta" and they were happy to do so! They ended up being on the 10:00 news last night. Pretty funny!
The girls could hardly contain themselves when the concert started. There was a lot of screaming going on (this old fart could have used some ear plugs). It was a great concert. He has an amazing voice!

Amazing Siblings

Okay, I don't know how I got so blessed. Heavenly Father sent me to a WONDERFUL family. I have SEVEN sisters and FIVE brothers (and my parents are amazing)!!! There was never a dull moment growing up in a family of 13 children. In a way, I feel bad for my kids that they will never have that experience. Riley is always telling me that I need to have a bunch more kids, so that we can have as many as Grandma did. I just laugh and tell her, "That is just not gonna happen!" I am constantly learning from my siblings. They are such good examples to me!!

My sister Lynette has run several marathons. She is currently training for the Boston Marathon. She is fun to watch when she runs. It looks completely effortless. She's only 5 foot and probably 100 pounds soaking wet (and she has 8 kids!!) I just want to spank her! It seems like every time she runs, she wins a trophy for something. I'm so proud of her!!!Just recently an article was written in a local magazine about her. Here is a picture from that article....GO LYNETTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have some majorly talented brothers and sisters and I just love them all!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to my little Hoosier baby

I love how she looks like she is giving the doll CPR.
Haley turned 4 years old today. It is hard to believe that my little baby is 4! We call her our little "Hoosier Baby" because she was born in Indiana. She was born just before John graduated. (She didn't even live there as long as our other kids.) When I was just about due with Haley the doctor said that he would induce me. I wanted to have her during John's spring break and the doctor was willing to help us out, so he agreed to start me. We didn't have family living near by and did not want to inconvenience anyone. I had to be to the hospital at 6:00 a.m., so we decided to drive separate cars to the hospital. (We only had one car, so we borrowed the Cherrington's car.) John's job was to get the kids dressed and take them to a friends house. It was such a crazy feeling driving myself to the hospital to have a baby. Talk about nervous!! When I got there they got the ball rolling rather quickly. They asked me if I was there by myself. (I'm sure that I looked like a pathetic girl.) I was happy to report that my husband was taking care of our other children and would soon be arriving. John didn't get there too quickly. I was starting to get a little nervous that I would in fact being going through the delivery on my own. Sure glad that I didn't have to!

I took Haley to Toys R Us today to let her pick out a few things for her birthday. She was like a pinball machine bouncing from one shelf to the next. She would pick something up and tell me how much she loved it. I would say, "maybe we should look around some more". She would then decide that she didn't want it anymore and run to the next shelf. She was so cute to watch! In her mind, it was like she could pick anything she wanted no matter the cost.

These days Haley is into...
Makeup---Lipstick, Lipstick, and more lipstick
Money (she likes carrying coins around)
Barbies, Bratz, polly dolls

She likes to...
Watch Tom and Jerry (and other shows as long as they are not "baby shows".
Have her nails painted
Take pictures with my cell phone (She takes the most random pictures of toys, etc)
Play with her cousins
Play with pretend food, and have "tea parties" with REAL water.
Carry a purse with coins, lipstick, and keys. She is such a girly girl.

Haley is my little side kick while the kids are at school all day. I'm lucky I get to hang out with her all day. She is just a great kid!!!!!!!!!!!

California Vacation

We just got back late Saturday night from a week long vacation to California. We had a blast and now we are soooo tired. We played so hard the whole week. John and I realized when we got home that we are a little camera happy. We downloaded over 600 pictures!!!! Holy Freeholies!!
We started off by staying in beautiful St. George. The weather was nice and the kids did a lot of swimming.

The next day we drove to Laguna Hills where my sister lives. We had LOTS of fun playing there. We went to the beach, swam in their pool, the kids hung out with their cousins, and we loved playing fetch with Charlie their dog.

One of the days we went to Disneyland and we didn't leave until it was closed. Our legs and feet hurt from all the walking. It was such a blast!!! The weather was nice and the lines were short. We just couldn't get enough of that place!!

Haley with her cousin London

This picture makes me laugh. Haley is running and screaming. She doesn't want the wave to touch her.

The following day was spent at Califonia Adventure. I loved the roller coaster ride, "California Screamin'"!! It definitly made me scream. Lisa, Kevin, and Emily brought their kids with them and came to California Adventure to spend the day with us.
Cousins Ava and Bailey with Haley
Jace and Tyler

We then went to L.A. to stay at my brother and sister-in-law's apartment (Kevin and Emily's). We went for a hike up near the "Hollywood" sign and saw lots of sites in L.A.

We also spent another day at the beach. It was so nice to sit in a chair and soak up some California rays. We had so much fun hanging out with those guys. Kevin and Emily---We are glad we had the chance to see you before your big move. We had a great week, but are sure glad to be home. Thanks Bob, Lisa, Kevin, and Emily!!
