Funny Jace

Jace was saying the prayer the other night and part of it went something like this...
"Please bless us to not have bad dreams. Please bless us not to have good dreams, because we just want to sleep!" Riley and I could hardly contain ourselves. The way that he said it made it even more funny. Jace is one that tends to ramble on about some pretty crazy things during prayer. He just wants to be so sincere and thoughtful. He will never be accused of giving a repetitious prayer.

Say Cheese Please!

I took Haley to the river near our house today. We went to go take some pictures. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing (of course). I opted to still take pictures anyway (despite the wind, it was still warm). Haley was a good sport and let me take LOTS of pictures of her. When I start taking pictures, I do tend to get a little out of control. Sometimes it drives my kids crazy.
I could just eat her up!

Haley insisted that I snap one of the duck.

The water tower in town. We used to call it the kissing tower when I was growing up. We thought that on the top it looked like there were two people up there kissing. What in the random?
Stinkin' wind! Still cute though.
While we were crossing the bridge Haley grabbed my hand and told me that I was her best friend. Oh, melt my heart!!
Saw lots of spider webs along the way.

Little Miss.

Until next time....

Seat Belt

Yesterday, Jace, Haley, and I were driving over to my mom and dad's house. My parents live about 1 mile from my house. We just jumped in the car and as I backed out of the driveway I told them that they should put their seat belts on. The conversation went something like this...

Mom-- "Jace and Haley you guys should put your seat belts on. When I was in High School I was in a car accident. I had my seat belt on and if I didn't I could have died.
Jace-- "You could have died?...but you lived right??
Mom-- (trying not to laugh...)"Yes bud, I lived." (There's nothing getting past this guy! Ha Ha!)

A few seconds later, Haley was getting on Jace about getting his seat belt on.
Haley-- "Jace hurry up and get your seat belt on!"
Jace--"Haley it's okay, if I die I'm going to heaven anyway."

Welcome Home

My nephew, Cole, returned from his mission on Wednesday. We know that he was a great missionary and we are so excited to have him home!

Good Times

My kids love to go play at the school playground. Sometimes I wonder why they want to go there, since they spend all their time there. I guess they like the fact that there is no duty teacher and they have the playground to themselves. We took them there a couple of days ago. John likes to pitch to the girls and have them hit. They are getting pretty good at smacking the ball out there.

Easter fun

We had a great Easter weekend. Saturday our ward had a waffle breakfast and egg hunt. Brynn, Jace, and Haley were excited to hunt eggs. Riley was too old to hunt this year. (She helped the YM/YW hide the eggs for the kids). The weather was just perfect for the hunt! YEAH!!

Later in the day we colored our Easter eggs. The kids had a great time coloring eggs. They came up with some impressive designs.

After dinner on Sunday we had our own egg hunt in the backyard. While we were eating dinner the kids were busy looking outside at all the eggs in the backyard. While we were looking out we saw a squirrel pick up one of the plastic eggs. He was busy trying to open it. It was so funny! Riley jumped up out of her chair, ran to the door, flung it open, and yelled, "Hey, put my egg down!" The squirrel dropped the egg and flew up the tree. We started to wonder if it is a Easter bunny or an Easter squirrel that hides the eggs.

Snoozing through scripture study

Last night we ended up reading scriptures a little later then usual. Haley ended up falling asleep on my lap while we read. As a family, we are currently studying in 3rd Nephi. We were reading about the destruction that happened during the time of Christ's crucifixion.

Today, Haley came up to Riley and I and said, "I had a dream last night that our house and all the houses were on fire and we went to Jesus' to live." Riley and I looked at each other and smiled. I said to Riley, "So does that mean you can still get something out of the scriptures if you sleep through it?" Riley said (with a sheepish grin), "Nice to know!"

When life hands you a lemon...

We woke up Friday morning to see the snow coming down. It was snowing hard, and it didn't stop until probably noon. We received about 5 1/2 inches of snow. Before the kids left for school, I once again pulled out hats, gloves, and boots. Hoping that this was our one last hurrah, Haley and I decided to go out and enjoyed the snow.

I put Haley on a sled and pulled her around the neighborhood. She thought that was a lot of fun. When we got back home, I shoveled a "road" for her tricycle. She liked driving her tricycle all around the driveway in the snow. When she got bored with that, we built a snowman. It was fun spending time outside with Haley. I just hope that next time it is warm and sunny.

Haley filled the mailbox with snow and put the flag up. I had to get it out before we went in so the mailman wasn't left a surprise.

Haley loves to ride her tricycle...in ANY weather.

Haley is holding hands with her snowman.
